What are you thankful for?

Today I went to visit the child that my mum and dad sponsor. Her name is Thembelihle and she is 9 years old. Her parents died from AIDS and she now lives with her elderly grandmother. 2 weeks ago we had an unbelievable storm, some say it was a hurricane.During this storm many people lost their homes and some lost their lives. Thembalihle was one of the lucky ones and all that happened was one wall came down. Their home is made mostly of mud and sticks and so when the rains come much of it gets washed away. Today I saw the damage first hand and I was heart broken. No one should live like this and yet sadly for millions in this country this is life, this is home sweet home.

Today I am thankful for my home, For electricity, for running water, for a front door that locks. I am thankful that I have a bed and a duvet and pillow that is dry and free of mould. I am thankful for my stove and my kitchen, for my fridge and my microwave.

I am thankful for EVERYTHING that He has given me.

So we are on to the 2nd floor! It is so exciting I love to see progress like this. We are hoping to move the family in by Christmas so please pray that we are done in time. It would be the best Christmas gift ever for this family.

quilts, quilts, quilts!!!!

A while ago a company called Krazy kwilts for kool kids decided that they were going to make all of our 150 orphans a quilt of their very own!!!! What a huge task! Each quilt was different and each had the child's name sewn into it. What an awesome blessing these quilts were to our kids. Here are a few of the one that I liked! The red one is my fav.

Me and Mo.

This is Phiwokhule (Mo), she is 3 years old and is HIV+. She lost her mum last year to AIDS and no one knows who her father is. She now lives with her aunt who is 19 years old. Last month My sister and her husband started to sponsor Mo and what a change this has made. Now they have a months supply of food every month. When she is old enough Mo will go to school thanks to the sponsorship from Andy and Amy. Can you help to change the life of an orphan?
