It's Tuesday and at my table are...............Cornish Pasties!
Shortcrust pastry (I cheated and used store bought to save time)
12oz Chuck steak, cut into small chunks.
1 onion chopped.
2 potatoes, diced.
7oz Turnips, diced.
Salt and Pepper.
1 Beaten egg.
Roll out pastry and cut 4 circles the size of tea plates. Mix all other ingredients together in a bowl and season well.
Pile the mixture in the center of each circle. Paint the edge of the circle with beaten egg and then pull the edges together, crimping the seam. Brush outside of pasty with more egg and place on baking sheet and put in over at 200c for20 mins, then lower temp to 150c for another 45 mins.
