Friend Makin Monday.

It's Friend Makin Monday over at All that is good . Today Kasey asks......What is the best advice you have ever been given?
Well that's a hard one....there has been so many great pieces of advice that I have been given I would be here all year trying to type them all down. So I will give you one that I truly believe changed my life the moment I heard it.

My Pastor in New York, Pastor Bill Wilson, is an amazing man and has a heart that is 100% for God. One of the things that he always taught us is "the need is the call".
So many people are trying to workout what they are supposed to do with their lives. So many Christians are sitting back on their butts waiting for "THE CALL" and what they do not realise is that the "call" could well be sitting right in front of them.
If you see a need that you can fulfil that is your calling right then and there! Is it a homeless person on the corner who need some food? Look in your purse do you have enough to get them a sandwich... yes?? Then that is your calling right at that moment.
Does your neighbour need a friend? Are they going through a rough patch? Do you have a shoulder???? Then let them lean on it! That is your calling right then and there.
Don't sit back and wait for the audible voice of God, don't sit and wait for someone to give you a prophesy.......you may never get one and then look at all the years you have wasted.

Get up and see the "Need"

THE NEED IS THE CALL!

Have a blessed day.

There are so many needs to be meet. Sometimes we have tunnel vision and are not aware of those needs...Open your eyes they are there! We should make a difference in this hurting world!Great advice.

It's nice to meet you!

Very well said! There are so many "little" things that we are Christians can do to show God's love. We just need to be open to them and hear the voice of God.

Thanks for the great reminder. I am enjoying reading your blog and seeing the neat experiences your family has!

Have a great week!

Wonderful post - somehow we never see the opportunities to serve, even though they are right in front of us!

Thank you, Vashti. It's nice to know that I'm not the only one with a messy house. :-D You do have two kids though, so you at least you have an excuse!!

Happy Monday!

That advice is succinct and right on point. Charity begins at home and how often do we all forget that?
What a great message to begin the week with.
Thank you.

Great advice!

It reminds me of what Henry Blackaby says in Experiencing God. He says that instead of trying to figure out what our gifts are and where to use them, we should look where God is working and then join in and then God will equip us. Or at least that was what I took away from the study.

This was great...I can hear it being my new mantra. "The need is the call. The need is the call." Love it. Thanks!

Thank you for reminding us of that. Too many have searched for THE CALL when there are so many needs we can attend to at home and across the world.

What a blessing you are~

What wonderful advice your pastor gave! He sounds like a smart and very Godly man! Isn't God great how he puts people and things in our lives to set us straight and to tell us the things we need to hear! I hope you are having a great day!
