My Arch Enemy........

For the first few years of my life my parents thought I had a cold! I constantly had a stuffed up nose and talked like I had a peg on my nose. When I was 4 they made a cassette tape of me singing Christmas songs, I am so nasal and bunged up its hilarious. I was taken for allergy tests and it turned out that I was allergic to dairy products....lactose products. These guys below.
Mum put me on goats milk and as a special "treat" carob chocolate....YUCK! As the years went on it seemed that I out grew the allergy and now I have milk only in my tea and coffee. I don't really like ice cream, yogurt and the like but I do love cheese but only have that maybe once a week.
Today I made a yummy pasta dish that had a mushroom and cream sauce......BIG MISTAKE!!!

I now feel like I might die!! I wont go into the gory details but my stomach is out of control!!!

AAAGGGHHHH!!!!
So now I am kicking myself, after spending 20 mins in the bathroom feeling like I was giving birth to a cow I am sitting on my comfy chair asking myself..."when will I learn?"
Do any of you have allergies that you just ignore because you want a moments joy?

I have irritable bowel syndrome that used to flair up if I ate spicy food. I LOVE spicy food. I would go eat Indian food and just start to sweat and yeah...same thing. BLAH! But I eat a lot of fiber now, so it's better. But every once in awhile...

I love cheese too. Mmmm...port salut...

I feel your pain, Vashti... when I moved to US I found out that my digestive system does not handle certain preservatives well (have not had a single problem with it in Belarus but here EVERY food is loaded with them)... I should eat mostly raw vegan organic stuff... but... ah well...

Oh, yes! I have a serious suspicion that I maybe, possible, hopefully not, but most likely am allergic to chocolate. Giving birth to large mammals is a wonderful description of the results I get from eating a single chocolate bar. I am still in denial at this point, however.

Hey Vash,

I found out I am allergic to potatoes.....after I had Libby. Potatoes have been the cause of my migraines for years and it does crazy things to my bowls. I've learned to live without baked potatoes and mashed potatoes, it's not worth it. But when I need some fries, I just pop a few Tylenol and deal with the aftermath...sometimes I just need fries!
